What has FEEST has been up to?

Since September,  FEEST has been happening every Thursday from 330 to 7 at Chief Sealth High School in room 228. Any youth are welcome to join!  Adults please RSVP with cristina@wccda.org.

This Month we will have our first Evergreen Potluck February 23rd   2012, 2:30 pm to 6pm. A bike bus and bus crew will be leaving Chief Sealth at 1pm if you are interested in traveling with other folks. David bader and Matthew Wo with have the bikes and bus passes for anyone who is interested. Evergreen High school is located at 830 SW 116th St. Look for signs to where the potluck is. The Theme is FROSTBITE FEEST. There will be games and activities. You are encouraged to wear your favorite pajamas! Adults and youth are welcome. We ask that people bring a dish to share if they can.

A couple of weeks ago FEEST Interns travelled down the Olympia for Youth Action day to Meet with LYAC (Legislative Youth Advisory Council). FEEST testifies for LYAC, January 2012During our trip we got watch their session, learn how bills get passed and testify to LYAC. FEEST with support from the  Seattle Foundation, Nature Consortium, and Schools Out Washington planning a youth summit with our partners Neighborhood House.

The summit will be May 4th 2012 from 3-10pm at Highpoint Center 6400 Sylvan Way.  Last week a team of 20 youth from South West Seattle decided the title and theme.

This years summit is about youth learning the tools for advocacy. Its called:

BOOM!!!… Noise that matters
Using our voices to raise awareness
Our stories build the future. 

If you are a youth interested in planning the summit for service learning hours, a senior project or for the experience please come thru to any of our planning sessions. We always have yummy food at our meetings.
