FEEST Free Grocery Program

Free Grocery Gift Cards (October 2020)

FEEST is offering free prepaid Visa cards for families to use to buy groceries. We have a limited number of cards available. You can use these cards anywhere, but they must be used for food.

We know that times are hard right now, and thanks to our generous funders we are able to offer this one-time program for our community. After you fill out the application form, we will contact you within two weeks to let you know if you’re approved.

Gift Card Program Requirements

To qualify for a gift card, you must:

  • Have lost your job, lost pay, or had your hours cut due to COVID-19
  • Have at least one child under 18
  • Live in SeaTac, South Seattle, Skyway, Tukwila, White Center, Burien, or Delridge

Applications are now closed. If you are currently on the waiting list, we will contact you when more gift cards are available.

Delivery Program (March – June 2020)

The delivery program ran from March–June 2020.

When schools closed in March 2020 due to COVID, many students who rely on school meals could no longer get them. And with rising unemployment, families who are food insecure are experiencing additional hardship right now. We heard the needs of our community and responded swiftly, shifting from our regular programming to create something new. Families with students at Chief Sealth, Evergreen, Rainier Beach, and Tyee High Schools were able to request free groceries delivered to their home by FEEST.

Between March and June, we made 808 grocery deliveries with nearly 200 volunteers. The impact has been incredible. Here’s what families have said about our program:

“My family and myself are so grateful for the groceries. I don’t know what we would do. I have not worked since March 17 just like many others. We are proud to be a part of the Rainier Beach community.”

“My sister and I were able to make food for ourselves while my parents were at work.”

“We were able to not have to worry about how we’re going to eat for the next week.”

“As a High Risk health condition person, it helps not having to go out. Also, the food came right as we had run out, so it was perfect timing!”
